Visiting My Niece and her Family

Tough day today. We are supposed to be here celebrating my brother's 50th birthday, but he died several weeks ago from a heart attack. We all tried not to think about it, but at times we simply couldn't avoid it.
My parents and us drove to North Ft Myers to take out my niece and her family for lunch. After lunch we went to a local park to let the kids all play together and for my niece and me to go over some paperwork/details related to her Dad's death. Unfortunately there was a birthday party going on at the pavilion at the park, so another reminder of my brother's absence today.
We enjoyed spending time with my niece and her family. We also stopped in Everglades City on the way back to the RV to visit my aunt and uncle.
Long day. We tried to keep busy to get through it. I wish my brother could have been with us to celebrate.

Claire, I am so sorry to hear about the untimely loss of your brother, I had no idea, I just read about it at the beginning of your blog. I am trying to get this blog thing down, I got through it but did it backwards- oh well, I think I got it now. I think this blog is great. We will be checking it daily to see what adventerous things the Engelmans are doing. I hope your back soon starts to feel better, enough is enough! Safe Travel! Robin
